Protecting wealth, data and trust
Protecting clients from fraud and cybercrime is a core responsibility of responsible wealth management. By combining robust security practices with client awareness, we aim to safeguard wealth, personal data and trust.
Protecting capital, data and trust
As a wealth manager focused on long‑term value and positive impact, protecting our clients goes beyond investment outcomes alone. It includes safeguarding personal information, financial assets, and the trust placed in us.
In an increasingly digital world, fraud and cybercrime are evolving rapidly. Criminals may use deception, impersonation or technology‑driven attacks to target individuals and organisations alike. Awareness and vigilance remain essential defences.
We believe informed clients are empowered clients. By sharing practical guidance and promoting awareness, we aim to reduce the risk of harm and contribute to a more resilient and trustworthy financial ecosystem.
Our commitment
Tribe is committed to maintaining appropriate security measures to protect client information and communications. We apply proportionate technical and organisational controls, regularly review our systems, and work with trusted partners to support the security of our operations.
We will never ask clients to share passwords or security codes, and we encourage clients to verify any unexpected requests for information or payments.
Common fraud risks
Fraud may involve:
- Impersonation of trusted individuals or organisations
- Unsolicited investment opportunities or urgent requests for action
- Emails or messages designed to create pressure, fear or urgency
- Requests to move funds outside of normal processes
If something feels unusual or inconsistent with how we normally communicate, it is important to pause and verify, ideally by contacting the people you know and trust using established contact details.
Our approach to cybersecurity and fraud prevention
Protecting clients requires more than technology alone. It also depends on strong governance, clear policies, and well‑trained people. Tribe takes a structured and proportionate approach to cybersecurity and fraud prevention, aligned with our responsibilities as a regulated wealth manager.
Staff training and awareness
Our people play a critical role in protecting clients. Tribe staff receive training on fraud prevention, cybersecurity and financial crime risks which are updated to reflect emerging threats and regulatory expectations. This training helps ensure our team remains alert to evolving risks and follow best practice when handling client information and communications.
Policies and internal controls
We maintain documented internal policies and procedures covering IT security, data protection and risk management. These policies set out clear standards for how information is accessed, used and protected, and are reviewed periodically to reflect changes in technology, regulation and risk. This forms part of our broader governance framework and commitment to responsible stewardship.
How clients can help protect themselves by recognising genuine communications from Tribe
Criminals may sometimes attempt to impersonate trusted firms or individuals. If you receive a communication that appears to come from Tribe but feels unusual, we encourage you to pause and verify before taking any action.
To help protect clients:
- Tribe does not use SMS or text messages as a method of client communication
- We will never ask you to share passwords, PINs or security codes
- We will not ask you to move money or provide sensitive information without appropriate verification
If you receive a suspicious email or message claiming to be from Tribe:
- Do not respond to unsolicited emails or messages
- Do not download attachments or click on any links
- Contact Tribe directly using official contact details, or speak with the people you know and trust using established contact details
- If you are concerned, or if you suspect fraud, a scam or unauthorised activity, please contact us. Early reporting can help limit potential impact and protect others.
While we take reasonable steps to protect client information, no system is completely immune to cyber threats. Clients should remain vigilant and take appropriate precautions to protect their own information.
